Ihnfeldt House
Originally built 1924, the Ihnfeldt House was gifted to Arthur Ihnfeldt and Erma Underwood from Erma's father in 1936. It was located on the corner of Sandy Lake and Lodge Roads before being moved to its current location in 2016. The house highlights the overall history of Coppell, features a variety of exhibits, is home to our new Children's Discovery Center, and houses our archives.

The first oil in Dallas County was discovered in Coppell in 1997.

This exhibit highlights radios, telephones, typewriters, and teletypes from the early 1900s through the early 2000s.

This exhibit features a variety of cameras from the early Kodak Box Cameras to late 1990s film cameras.

This exhibit highlights the evolution of schools in Coppell from the early one room Bethel School to the modern day high school.

This exhibit highlights George Coppell, the city's namesake, and the Cotton Belt Route.

The Harrison Family
This exhibit highlights the Harrisons, one of the first families in Coppell. They were known for opening the first general store and for operating the first post office.

Children's Discovery Center
Pictured is our new Children's Discovery Center featuring a variety of books, motor skill and imagination activities, and Coppell themed questions for curious thinkers. While this new area is still a work in progress, we invite families to check out what we have so far!

Arthur Herman Infheldt and Erma Hazel Underwood
Pictured are Mr. and Mrs. Ihnfeldt who owned this home. The couple was married for 39 years. In the 1920s and 1930s, the home had a gas pump outside and operated as a small corner store. During the Great Depression, Erma sold sandwiches to the men building Sandy Lake Road.
